Transparency Intl Anti-Corruption Summer School July 8th-14th

desimtoji-transparency-international-skaidrumo-mokykla-8271 July 8-14th, 2019, the Transparency International Anti-Corruption Summer School was held at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU).

More than 140 students, future leaders from at least 60 countries took part in the Summer School. It was organized in cooperation with Mykolas Romeris Law School.

At the opening on July 8th, MRU Rector Prof. Inga Žalėnienė addressed participants delivering the Welcome Address.

The School featured 3 teaching modules that cover the public sector, the private sector and civic empowerment. Each module deals both with theory and practice and includes:

Public sector – grand and small corruption, measuring corruption, state capture, political party financing, public procurement, etc.;
Private sector – international anti-corruption mechanisms, corporate reporting standards and corruption in different industry sectors, such as the media or sports, etc.

The civic empowerment module addresses the role of citizens in monitoring the activities of the state . It explores ways in which people can become involved in the public decision-making process, in reporting corruption and in anti-corruption activities.

Transparency School was organized in cooperation with Mykolas Romeris Law School. Upon completion of the course, the students receive 6 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits
